The largest of the waters at Trout Hideaway, measuring some five hectares in area and up to fourteen metres in depth at places. A solid rock gorge shapes the eastern side, where the river plunges down ten metres of polished rock, creating a most magnificent waterfall that meets a dense indigenous riverine forest at it’s base. Home to the majestic Fish Eagle, often seen swooping graciously across the surface claiming it’s unsuspecting victim. For those inaccessible areas, a rowing boat lies moored or one may prefer the silent float tube to stalk the big ones that lurk in the depths of this breathtaking expanse of water.
