The fact that the Hideaway is able to boast these prestigious records is a result of the quality and uniqueness of it’s waters. The perennial river’s catchment area begins high up, ensuring the flow runs cold, clear and unpolluted. A steep drop in altitude ensures the tumbling cascading waters are richly oxygenated, creating ideal circumstances for a healthy aquatic life and a heaven for trout anglers - difficult qualities to find elsewhere. Three and a half kilometre of river fishing are supplemented by five deep dams and picturesque weirs. A “Stew” pond provides an easy catch for the evening braai.
